The Mountain Empire Airport is owned and operated by the Smyth Wythe Airport Commission, a joint commission of representatives from Smyth and Wythe Counties and the towns of Marion and Wytheville. The Commission meets the fourth Thursday of every month at 6 pm in the terminal conference room.
